VALBEC members should receive the next issue of Fine Print later this month. We are very grateful to Lindee Conway for collecting memories of Maggie Power from friends and colleagues so we could publish a lasting tribute to her in this issue.
We also offer much food for thought: Who uses the Reading Writing Hotline? How do you do action research? How do you teach numeracy? Can student-led learning circles get an EAL program off the treadmill? How can the principles of positive psychology enhance the adult learning environment?
Make sure your VALBEC membership is up-to-date to ensure you receive your copy and suggest your institution's library subscribes.
Save $50 per day.
Also discounts for ACAL members.
In 2018 PRACE completed a project with the support from the Victorian Cancer Council.
The goal of the project was to create teaching and learning resources for EAL students to gain an improved understanding of cancer prevention strategies and cancer screening processes. We are pleased to announce that these resources are now available to all adult educational providers.
A 'bonus' 2019 VET International Practitioner Fellowship is now available.
The Department of Education and Training in partnership with the International Specialised Skills Institute is offering a Fellowship of $13,000 to a VET practitioner who is employed within RTOs, (TAFEs, private RTOs and registered Learn Local Organisations).
International Specialised Skills Institute Fellowships contribute to building the Education State by driving innovation and best practice and reducing educational disadvantage within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Fellowships will explore innovative responses to VET related challenges in industry and the classroom.
Applications close at 5pm, 14th August, 2019.
